Recap: Surfrider NYC + Barefoot Wine – Dune Creation Project August 10, 2013
Our annual Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue event had a twist this year as we worked with the NYC Parks Department to build dunes at Rockaway Beach 35th Street. With over 200+ volunteers in attendance, we covered a large portion of the beach designated to dune restoration. The area, prior to Superstorm Sandy, had dunes which was washed away with the high storm surge. We could not have been more pleased with the turn-out and how stoked everyone was to help restore Rockaway Beach. Stay tuned for a short video documenting the days events.
We would also like to thank all our volunteers and partners who made the day so special and possible – Barefoot Wine, NYC Parks Department, Hive, KIND Snacks, LOST WEEKEND, Honest Teas, Lava Girl Surf, Small Water, and our video crew of Ruth Mamaril, Davina Grincevicius and Reid van Renesse. Everyone rocked it!
Relive the day with these great images captured by our volunteers and official photographer Jenna Addesso.
