Surfrider NYC + Barefoot Wine: Dune Creation Project – August 10, 2013

Written by surfridernyc | Jul 25, 2013 10:00:52 AM
Join us and Barefoot Wine for our annual Barefoot Wine: Beach Rescue Project on August 10th as we come together to build dunes in Rockaway Beach!

The Parks Department has dedicated close to 15 blocks  of beaches for us to build dunes on and we need your help. All are welcomed as we help to restore the shore and secure the safety of Rockaway Beach.

We will also be assisting the Park Department with invasive plant species removal and beach clean-up. You will learn from a city horticulturist about the invasive plant species and how to properly remove them. If you want to participate in the  invasive plant removal you will need to wear shoes, protective clothing, and bug spray.

Afterwards, participants will be treated to a celebration with Barefoot Wine & bubbly, food, and a live musical performance by Ryan Star.

Come ready to shape Rockaways’ future and have fun!
