Thank you to the more than 40 volunteers who showed up for our community on July 5th to clean the beach! July 5 is considered the dirtiest beach day of the year. We were able to collect nearly 300 pounds of trash from Rockaway Beach — an important feat given how polluted our beaches become after the Fourth of July holiday.
Aside from the direct impact the cleanup had, our volunteers were able to collect data that will help us push for legislative action on a number of issues, including banning single use plastics.
