Plastic Bag Fee Rally – March 26, 2014

Written by surfridernyc | Mar 24, 2014 2:59:42 PM
Think there is too much plastic in NYC?

You’re not alone! On Wednesday, March 26th legislation to put a 10 cent charge on carryout single-use bags (paper and plastic) in NYC will be reintroduced to NYC City Council.

Show your support for this legislation by joining us and the No Impact Project for a rally and press conference at 11 am (please arrive at 10:50 am) on Wednesday, March 26th on City Hall Steps.

Signs are welcome! But please do not bring sticks. All signs will have to pass through a security check. (Please also remember that this legislation is promoting a charge on bags rather than a ban, so please avoid the “Ban the Bag” slogan!)

For more information on the legislation go to http://bit.ly/1nzb1Xb

Questions? Reach out to our plastic bag rep at plastics.rep(at)nyc.surfrider.org

Thanks for your support. We hope to see you there!
