Verity is a May 2024 graduate of the University of St Andrews where she studied Sustainable Development and Business Management. She grew up going on sailing adventures with her grandparents who were avid sailors, which first instilled a love for life on the water in Verity. Verity has wanted to work to better the environment in some form for a long time, but her interest in the marine environment and conservation was peaked in University Sustainable Development studies. She went on to be a Volunteer Field Research Assistant for a marine conservation non-profit abroad for two months after graduating, which completely changed her career ambitions and opened her eyes further to anthropogenic impacts on the oceans and waterways, marine plastics becoming a key area of concern for Verity. Passionate about pioneering environmental justice and ensuring all people have fair access to advocate for clean and safe beaches and waterways, Verity is excited to work as the JEDI Advisor for Surfrider NYC!
