Thank you to everyone who joined us at our February 2nd chapter meeting, our first event of the year! Our friends from Patagonia Brooklyn hosted us and we had the pleasure of having Allison Deperte from the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society as our guest speaker.
Allison spoke about the work the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society does, the marine animals we find in the NY area (whales, dolphins, sea turtles, seals), especially near the Rockaways as well as what we should do when finding them sick or injured on the beach. You can learn more on what to do here if you encounter stranded animals.
Make sure to join us for our next chapter meeting on March 16! Adriana, our Ocean Friendly Garden Rep, will be presenting on green infrastructure, the importance of native plants and the benefits of Ocean Friendly Gardens!
