Mid-Atlantic Conference!

On October 16th and 17th, Surfrider Foundation hosted the Mid Atlantic conference in Asbury Park! Chapters from all over the region gathered and it was a great opportunity to network, share knowledge, and get updates from Surfrider HQ. We discussed different campaigns such as Rise Above Plastic, climate change, sea level rise, water safety, and so much more. As well as shared best practices and learnings from each chapter – demonstrating the power and effectiveness of a national chapter network. 

Three of our volunteers were in attendance to represent the New York chapter, as well as our chapter coordinator. Our NYC team presented to other chapters and volunteers about our Beach Cleanup Experience Days – where we partner with companies to bring out their employees to the beach to clean up and learn more about the issues impacting the area. We hope that other chapters can implement this approach to accomplish the same success that NYC has had.
